I have to agree with some of the other comments. You need details and a storyline. Where are we exactly? I thought we are on a desert island, but all of a sudden there is a castle. Maybe if you tell us what is going on, like what the war or battle is about and why people are fighting, then maybe I wouldn't be so confused. The person in the story probably has some motive for fighting- give some background and tell his story.
